The many people i n the dark lacking energy access is greatly prohibiting global success and really needs to be solved. The efforts to solve this problem are driven by UN SDG 7, and in order to accomplish this a large shift in global finance would need to happen. This situation looks even more desperate when looking at how 84% of the rural global population are without access to energy. The remoteness of these people lends them favorable to not being close enough to grid systems, or in many cases these grid systems are not reliable and very expense. The solution to this problem is to increase the number of mini-grid solutions as a way to supply energy to remote areas. These products would also be beneficial because they reduce indoor air pollution and are much more cost effective. Therefore it is clear to see that solar energy is the key to solving this issue.
