Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. In regards to Affordable and Clean energy, it matters because around the world 1.3 million people live without access to electricity. These numbers are focused in Africa where 620 million people can not get affordable, sustainable, and reliable energy. And in some places, such as northern Rwanda or Uganda, fewer than 1 in ten homes do not have access to simple solar systems. This problem once is addressed it could have significant effects on improving the economy of these countries, the health of the people living there, and the overall well being of people in unconnected places. My goal addresses UN SDG 7 because it is helping bring this type of positive energy to those places lacking.

This goal strives to "Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts". With climate change affecting every country on Earth we need people stepping up to start reducing their impact. By providing solar panels instead of lamps etc. it is one way we can reduce emissions at their root. See more at the UN Sustainable Development Goals Current forms of energy used mainly in developing countries has been accelerating the rate of climate change drastically. These types of energy are commonly lamps and candles providing many hazards. Using solar energy could slow the rate of global warming and positively impact the planet and the people living on it. • For example; by switching to renewable forms of energy from kerosene lamps it reduced 160,000 metric tons of air pollution per year in Bangladesh

This goal has to do with all things infrastructure. It is crucial to achieving sustainable development and empowering communities in many countries. It also most directly wants to "Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation" (UN Sustainable Development Goals) Providing light to developing nations would have many positive impacts in regards to Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. By not having a steady form of energy it makes many stores vulnerable and prohibits them from reaching their full potential. By giving people access to panels it increases productively which helps the country as a whole. • Fact: Around 30 countries experience regular power shortages which costs those countries economies on average 2%- 5% off there GDP, therefore without these setbacks they would be better off.
